“Walk for Love”is a large-scale hiking activity for public welfare, initiated by China’s Lingshan Public Welfare and Charity Promulgation Association and Lingshan Charity Foundation in 2013. Standing firmly in local area, they amalgamated resources from all fields, promoting the public to exercise, targeting poverty precisely, and prompting tourism undertaking in all areas, in forms of hiking and other specific challenges.
Walking for Love employs the most adaptable way to exercise -- hiking -- to spread positivity, encourage fitness training, and gathering funds for charity. We hope that the public can walk out of cars, offices, etc. and instead walk into the nature, so that they would not be grounded in their own world. They will be able to walk out of egotism and meet their better selves through this odyssey of mind.
To participate in Walk for Love, we encourage everyone to choose a welfare project to support upon applying, and raise a certain amount of funds (no less than 10 transactions). On the day of hiking, the participants must overcome all kinds of obstacles and finish the designated route in a certain period of time.
The Walk for Love project was first experimented in Wuxi in 2013. In the past five years, we’ve held this activity in 16 cities including Wuxi, Shanghai, and Beijing, etc., and around 80,000 people participated in the real hiking events. Overall, over 500,000 people donated more than¥35,000,000 for about 400 welfare projects. Walk for Love is currently the most extensive and influential hiking activity for public welfare in the nation.
In the year of 2018, Walk for Love will take place in numerous cities including but not limited to Wuxi, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Macau, Kathmandu (capital of Nepal), and Chicago.
